So-Co

While watching this move i could not help but think about the first key concept of Hall, "Even though sexuality is often considered a highly private matter, it is thoroughly connected to our social existence." This seem to be the effect of the whole movie. Just by looking at where these transsexuals lived, to how outsiders perceived them, and even how they saw themselves in their "family." The very beginning started with him explaining that if he told the man what he really was that bad things would possible happen to him. Then also how the one true female feared that her life would be destroyed because people might find out she is married to a transsexual. Even Lola, still worked as her male, John, so that he would no scare off his clients. But, i guess the question i have is, Does society exclude them or are they excluding themselves from society?
